photos of the day...read the other post first! :)

a little bit of each

This video about sums up the day. It all came to a point this evening, Madeline lost her first loose tooth, Anna's other loose tooth didn't quite make it out (but it's close!) and she was not too pleased! I can't believe they are old enought to lose teeth, it is very surreal to me, they are SO big! Russell is always willing to be on camera and Barrett is usually just chillin' out watching all the excitement. I think this video cought a pretty good overview of what this evening was like for me. Each of the girls also wrote letters to the tooth fairy (Sean and I decided that it will visit BOTH girls when a tooth is redeemed!) I will try to post pics of the letters later, I helped them decide what to write but they actually wrote the whole letters themselves, impressive! Today all the kids played out front with a bunch of other neighborhood kids, all very close to their ages. The girls did great and Rusty did too (he didn't run for the street, etc..), except for when it was time to go in (so I could cook dinner) he did not agree with me and made it well known, but oh well, I could also tell his ears were bugging him (he kept poking at them) so I didn't make too much of it. Barrett took a binki for a bit today, I'm not dead-set on encouraging it, but I do think with him sleeping on his tummy it helps keep his head turned and not too smooshed (which he prefers). They are all doing great, a whole lot of multimedia headed your way!!! :)

Update

We saw a pediatrician at Childrens Hospital this afternoon. The kids all did really well! Russell was a trooper, poor thing! The Dr said his ears are improving and she would put in referrals for an ENT and Speech and we would see what they say, he's only had 3 infections, not a ton, but I want to be ahead of the game here, I hate to see him in so much pain!
I prefer instead of having the little boys get 4+ immunizations each time they go in for a well baby check to go in more frequently (usually once a month) and space them out, however, this doc doesn't like to do that. ARGH. I don't know if it's true about immunizations and autism, and I don't know how much good spacing them out does, but I do know that bombarding their little immune systems with multiple shots which contain up to 3 vaccines EACH seems a little excessive. I'm inclined to think that they like to do them all at once because it's easier for them, not better for the kiddo. So, I have to decide if I want to change Dr's or try to let this doc do it my way. She mentioned that when they do this the kids get behind, I can understand that but I think it should be the parents choice. I know in the city here the doc's are much more busy, it's just the way it is, so I know I'm going to have to be proactive in the care of my little ones!

Adjusting

I think we are all adjusting nicely to the new house. As I type this the girls are playing soccer in our front "community yard". There is a little boy out front also who is kind of bugging them, blowing through a paper tube into their face, I don't know how old he is but his speech is pretty lousy, so I'm not sure what he is saying! I told them to ask him to stop, and if he didn't they could play out back. As of right now it looks like he's stopped and things are ok. Russell is upstairs napping. I finally got a PCM for him at Childrens and we are all going in at 2:10pm today to re-check his ears and hopefully get referrals to an ENT and Speech Therapist. I know he's going to freak out, but I know it needs to be done and asap so we can get his back to 100%. Barrett is sitting here in his bouncy seat, getting tired and starting to fuss a tiny bit. He's growing like crazy, such a little chunker! I'm trying to get the house in order and get used to life back on sea-duty! I'm glad we are here, I think this is going to be a great place for the kids to grow up!

Such a talk-ie boy!

I don't think I've ever seen a 2 month old who loves to talk so much! Usually he loves to talk to people but this time he was chatting with the light-up star above his play mat - cuteness!

ChooChoo!

This was the little train Sean took the kids on after we went to the zoo today - choochoo!

Whew.

Well, we made it to San Diego. Just when things were suppossed to calm down they got a little dramatic with a house that was simply not clean. It's being resolved now, but geez, there has been some high blood pressure around here! Luckily the kids have been behaving beautifully, adapting well like always. They are very happy to have all their familiar stuff back. Yesterday we went to Ikea and got the girls a table/desk unit with desk chairs. It is the perfect size for their room and there is just enough room for them both, plus me in the middle to help with homework. I can not believe my little girls are starting school! Well, here are a few pics from our moving adventure!
