Bolognese

Well, we’re putting the “gourmet” in this blog.  This Sunday I made a Bolognese sauce that took about 7 hours and Sean made his homemade noodles too.  A little salad, wine and my homemade bread and it was a feast!

Pureed carrot, onion, celery and garlic cooked in olive oil, the goal is to brown, we’re looking for fond people!

After about 45 minutes of cooking:

Next, 3 pounds of organic ground beef, also cooked for 45 minutes until brown…more fond!

Add 2 cups (!) of tomato paste and cook until brown…again…

Add lots of wine, bay and thyme.  Water to cover and simmer.
